Andrea and Tom’s Wedding, Cape Cod, Massachusetts

I got my start photographing weddings in Massachusetts, so when Andrea and Tom contacted me to fly out and shoot their wedding on Cape Cod, I was very excited to revisit my old stomping grounds. Since I was out there for the weekend, I did a quick engagement session with them before their rehearsal dinner in Sandwich, where they treated all the guests (including me and my assistant photographer) to a clambake with fresh lobster.  Did I mention how much I loved working with Andrea and Tom?!?  Seriously, lobster fresh from New England (it was an extravagant treat I wasn’t expecting)!!

The next day was their wedding day and the bride and groom started their preparations at the Blue Water Resort in South Yarmouth. Their ceremony was close by at St. David’s Episcopal Church, and then we headed to the reception at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.

Because Tom and Andrea wanted to fit in a “trash the dress” session, but had to catch an early flight for their honeymoon, we got up and did their day after session at the crack of dawn the next day. It was an intense weekend of work, but it was a ton of fun.  Andrea and Tom were such troupers in the rain!  It was such a pleasure to visit and photograph on the Cape again, with the salty air and little shingled cottages everywhere.  Thank you Tom and Andrea for flying me out there!

Reese and Jim’s Wedding, Four Seasons Hotel, Westlake Village

Reese and Jim are sweet, smart and have a classic sense of style, so their venue, the Four Seasons Westlake Village, was the perfect location for their wedding. They got ready and had their first viewing at the Chinese pagoda just outside the spa area and then it was off to a very heartfelt and emotional ceremony at the Agoura Bible Fellowship, where Reese and Jim share a strong mutual faith.  After the ceremony, we headed to a nearby field for some group photos and photos of Reese and Jim alone as a newly married couple.  Our last stop was back to the Four Seasons for the reception, where Matt Mitchell of Joyful Noise Entertainment led the festivities for the evening.

A couple of the details that I especially loved were the bridesmaids gifts that Reese had custom-made for her bridesmaids (made by Magen Schafer of the The Birth of Venus– they were stunning!) and the vibrant and fresh flowers by Flowers for You Agoura.

Deborah and David’s Wedding, The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles

Deborah is the type of person that is so bubbly that her smile literally lights up the room and while I wasn’t able to meet David until the day of their wedding, you could practically see the sparks fly when they saw each other for the first time (maybe that’s why David and his groomsmen wore socks with lightning bolts on them?!)!

It’s tradition that Jewish ceremonies be performed at sundown, so when Deborah descended the stairs in the evening dusk for their ceremony at The Skirball Cultural Center, it set the scene for a very dramatic evening.  Deborah’s cousin officiated the ceremony, which was a nice personal touch.  Amy Shapiro with Mindy Weiss Party Consultants did a fantastic job bringing all the elements together for their wedding day.

Some of the other vendors for their wedding included:

Videography: Lenny Dodge of Entertainment Plus

Flowers: Commerce Flowers

Cake: Rosebud Cakes

Band: Aejay’e & The Full Spectrum Band

Lighting: Images by Lighting

Molly and Josh’s Wedding, Firestone Winery, Santa Ynez

Molly and Josh came to me as referrals from past wedding couple Anne Marie and Brian (pictured below with the sparklers), who I incidentally met on a flight while going to shoot a destination wedding in Hawaii several years ago.  Our plane had some engine problems and our flight had to make an emergency landing back in LA.  It’s funny how one nightmare flight on the way to shoot one wedding has led to me working with some truly wonderful clients (so I guess I should thank American Airlines for the faulty engine!).

Anyway, I was excited to work with Molly and Josh who were married on a beautiful sunny day at Firestone Vineyards.  Coordinator Cori Lassahn of Avante Events did an amazing job pulling all the details together.  Ambient Event Design did the décor, and the stunning flowers were designed by Tricia Fountaine Design, whose work is nothing short of breathtaking.  Catering was by the always scrumptious Pure Joy Catering.  The band Tijuana Dogs also made the long trip up from Orange county and literally rocked the reception- it was quite the celebration!

Britt and Mark’s Wedding, Parker Palm Springs

Mark and Britt are both artistic, smart and ultra-liberal, so the Parker Palm Springs was the perfect venue for their wedding.  Uber-chic and yet laid-back, their wedding felt effortlessly stylish and bohemian cool (despite the sweltering heat). Britt is a huge fan of croquet, so it was a given that they got married on the Parker’s outdoor croquet lawn.  Mark and Britt’s wedding had so many fun details, but one detail that I loved was that they passed out Cuban cigars for everyone to enjoy during the cocktail hour.  What a fun wedding and fun couple!

Here are a few of the vendors that contributed to their day:

Venue: Parker Palm Springs

Flowers: Artisan Events

Reception Decor: Signature Rentals

Photobooth: Classic Photo Booth
