Earlier, I did a maternity session with Elena and Scott and it’s so fun to come back and work with couples who I’ve photographed at various stages of their lives (engagement, wedding, pregnancy and now a baby portrait session for their first child, Jordan). Hands down, I think the most rewarding aspect of my job is to witness and capture the most important milestones in people’s lives!
Most pregnancy sessions I do are very quiet and serene photo sessions, but since this session was mostly a children’s portrait session with a few “conservative” maternity images mixed in, the session was actually very high energy. I loved working with, Shira, Sarah, and Rebekah since they were so spirited and a lot of fun!
Even though these were shot a little while ago (time got away from me recently), I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to post this cutie-pie’s images on my blog! This portrait session in Pasadena was for Jack’s first year portrait and since he just celebrated his birthday, we took advantage of the colorful baby pool filled with balls for his party and incorporated them into the photo shoot. I love to photograph kids at this age because their personalities start to really reveal themselves. One of my favorite images is the last image- even though Jack is pouting, I think it’s utterly adorable!
Most of the events I photograph are weddings, but I recently got a call from Rabbi Chaim Mentz of Bel Air looking for an event photographer to capture his 50th Birthday Party and Chabad of Bel Air’s 24th Anniversary at the stunning Beverly Hills Hotel. It was an evening of celebration, toasting, comedy, dancing and festivities. I was thrilled to meet singer and American Idol sensation Paula Abdul, too. Mazal Tov to you, Rabbi Mentz! 
Esther and Francis both arrived from Nebraska (where they both practice medicine) and were blessed with gorgeous weather for their wedding at Rancho Capistrano, which is a romantic venue with neat little Spanish accents in Orange County. As a wedding photographer, it’s always fun to see the blending of different cultures, so I loved how they mixed elements from Esther’s Korean background along with American wedding traditions, and of course hot sauce (as favors) from Belize (for Francis). Colette’s Catering created a stunning cake (check out the detail- it looks like a work of art!) and Robinson’s flowers did an amazing job on the flowers. They had their first dance at dusk, then quickly changed into traditional Korean wedding attire for a Korean tea ceremony, and then rocked the rest of the night away!
The last couple of months have been very busy, and I have had the opportunity to photograph some amazing weddings, events and portrait sessions. I’m hoping to get caught up on blogging some of those amazing events soon! Stay tuned… :)
